Three is planning to stock the Nokia X7, helpfully updating its "coming soon" page to reflect the fact. Sitting next to the HTC Flyer, which launched today, it's scheduled for a June launch along with the HTC Sensation -- which everyone wants to sell.
Ever since last year's leak we've been anticipating its rival-killing credentials. Don't be too worried about its Symbian roots, as Nokia is still breathing life into the old dog despite some shaky moments.
Though we haven't got our mitts on it yet, we're pretty happy with the X7's spec sheet. That lovely widescreen 4-inch AMOLED screen is a beauty, while the 8-megapixel camera -- fast becoming a mobile-standard -- features a dual-LED flash and 720p high-definition recording.
It may not be the fastest critter around, as it has 'only' a 680MHz processor (we've been getting used to typing 'GHz' for mobile processor speeds of late), but all the other newfangled bits you'd expect are on board too -- GPS, accelerometer and Wi-Fi. What do you mean, you want a compass?
The updated version of Symbian (named after a woman, Anna, rather than a dessert) will include a better interface, a portrait Qwerty keyboard (for those who love narrow touchscreen keys), Ovi Maps and social-media integration. It will be interesting to see how the X7 and other Symbian-based phones fare against the company's new Windows Phones and MeeGo devices.
There's no word on pricing, contracts or other networks yet, but you can be sure there'll be a rush on soon enough. When we find out we'll let you know.

Radeon Profile Tool, or RadeonPro for short, is a free, user friendly utility designed to unleash the power of AMD Radeon video graphics cards. RadeonPro applies user defined profiles upon game start, just define once the desired 3D settings for each game and have all those settings applied every time you play, automatically
RadeonPro is a new tool to automate the 3D settings (AA/AF/Vsync/Catalyst AI/etc.) based on game being started, I think it's very annoying dealing with CCC profiles and shortcuts, not to mention that settings won't be restored after the game is ended.
The idea is pretty straightforward: You configure all 3D settings (AA/AF/Catalyst AI/etc.) and save all those settings as a profile for a particular game, when the corresponding game is started the profile is automatically loaded. As soon the games finishes the previous settings are restored.
If you're an ATi Tray Tools user and already uses the automated profiles you won't need this tool, unless you want to mess with MVPUModes and other limited tweaks like showing CrossfireX logo on screen, remembering that those settings are per game settings.
I'm planning other tweaks and so, I would be glad if you try it and give me some feedback and suggestions on how to make RadeonPro better.

Ice Cream Sandwich First Take
Google officially announced Ice Cream Sandwich today, its follow-up to Android 2.3 Gingerbread for Android phones.
The next-stage operating system will finally give Android phone owners a taste of Android Honeycomb 3.0 by bringing smartphones Honeycomb's holographic user interface, more multitasking, and a new apps launcher.
What's more, with Ice Cream Sandwich, which will launch in the fourth quarter, Google finally addresses the fragmentation issues that have plagued the adolescent operating system.
Since we only got a glimpse, it's tough to rate the OS so far, but from the looks of it, Ice Cream Sandwich will advance Android smartphone capabilities by leaps and bounds, versus the more-incremental updates we saw with Gingerbread. We'll be looking forward to seeing hardware and software unified on a single mobile platform, similar to Apple's move in consolidating its mobile products under iOS. Here's what we'll expect to see.

This means that Ice Cream Sandwich will run on tablets and smartphones, and possibly on other Android devices as well. As a result, Ice Cream Sandwich will bring all of Honeycomb's coveted features to Android phones. That includes user-interface refinements such as multitasking, a "holographic" user interface, a scrolling list of apps, an application launcher, and richer resizable widgets.
Ice Cream Sandwich phones will also get access to the newly announced movie rental service in the Android Market (along with all Android phones 2.2 and above), Google Music access, and compatibility with hardware accessories like keyboards and game controllers.

With Ice Cream Sandwich, Google is also working hard to shrink fragmentation. Developers will get the new, open-source APIs and a framework that will help them optimize apps for different devices. This will allow the same program to run on most Android phones and tablets of different screen sizes and specs.This was one of developers' previous complaints.
Although it's not an Android feature, Google has also partnered up with various carriers and manufacturers--all four nationwide carriers, HTC, Samsung, etc.--to promise that all new devices must run the latest versions of Android for at least the first 18 months. However, it's still a very welcome effort by Google to help reduce fragmentation issues.
